My friend was feeding her neighbor's chickens while they were out of town for a few days. Knowing I have a fondness for these birds, she invited me over to take pictures. This painting is from one of their close-ups.
I think I got the idea for this painting from pictures I took out the car window traveling south on Highway 101...south of Santa Maria. (I was the passenger in the car.)
These are only a few of the spools of thread that belonged to my mother-in-law. I doubt one can find "real" wooden spools of thread these days. She was a great seamstress.
Art has always been a major part of my life and as the years have gone by it has grown into my passion. My view of the world is seen through eyes that focus on light, and vivid color.
